I’m officially a mommy two times over! Cohen was born at 3:32 on Monday morning. As many of you know, I was dreading being induced (pre-eclampsia; maybe next time I’ll get my natural labor), but it actually went much more smoothly than my delivery of Elliott. My doctor handled the process well, and they didn’t jump to pushing further intervention to make the birth more convenient for them, which I truly appreciated.

I’m really not good at many things. I’m good at being a mom. My family is fucking perfect. My husband took the week off and he’s been wonderful about keeping the house clean for me (I can be kind of obnoxious about that) and keeping me from feeling completely annoying in general. I hate needing help, but he makes me feel much better about asking for it. I lucked out. Despite crying every time I piss and having to stuff my bra with ice packs, I’m feeling pretty good about everything. (Did I mention I could actually button size 3 skinny jeans yesterday at 3 days postpartum? ‘Cause that’s pretty awesome, too. :D)
